The Primaton series by NMT Electronics is a series of compact, high-density, full-functionality, and socket-interchangeable processor cores. The series has been proposed to bridge the gap between off-the-shelf simplified development board and using ICs natively.

The board itself gives its user a full access to every pin and function in the core microcontroller. This is done maintaining a minimal size of the board, and an ultra-compact connectivity.

Each family of the Primaton series is socket interchangeable. That means that you can replace one entire core with another, without having to do many changes to your design, as each group of function pins are mapped together.

The boards are highly miniaturized, sizing 25x25 mm on average, and using

1.27mm pins pitch, about the size of a coin, with other models being smaller or

bigger, depending on the core processor.

You can use the Primaton as a standalone device, interfacing it directly or through its planned carrier boards, or you can use it in your end-product design just like any other IC, thanks to its compact and interchangeable design.
